Hello,
A message you are probably not waiting for, from someone you don't know personally, but from someone and by extension someone's family who is immensely grateful to you and the entire team.
Exactly 2 years ago (22/07/22), I ended up in your surgery with a enormous liver trauma, actually a severe multi trauma, after a quad accident.
You and your team gave everything to save my life. I can tell you that the liver surgeon who is now following my healthcondition, and by extension all doctors who closely monitor my health, confirmed that you succeeded brilliantly.
After several days of artificial coma, your colleague, a heart surgeon, whose name I do not know, saved my life a second time by performing a mechanical thrombectomy, a very rare procedure in Belgium.
I am still in rehabilitation, but for traumas not linked to both of those domains. It will be fine but it will still take some time.
Nevertheless, I would like to thank all the KBC staff personally, although by e-mail, for the excellent care. I am aware that I was lucky to have ended up in the University Hospital of Split, elsewhere I might not have survived.
Even although I had limited awareness during my stay in ICU, I will always remember the good care I recieved.
I close by once again thanking the entire team and reaffirming to you what a great job you do every day.
Eternally grateful!
Greetings
